It was impossible to survive without a horse in a mountainous country like Kyrgyzstan, especially for nomadic nation. That is why Kyrgyz people called horse "man's wings". Time is running but horses still plays a big role in the everyday life of Kyrgyz. During this tour you will follow the ancient nomads along the Great Silk Road. At the same time you will explore traditions, the national drinks and food which still cooked by the old recipes.
Tour summary: Day 1: Bishkek - Issyk Kul Lake
After your guide greets you at Manas Airport you will be transferred to Bishkek City (30 min. drive). There you will have breakfast and start transfer (200 km) to the pearl of Central Asia - Issyk Kul Lake (1608m.above sea level) which is second highest alpine lake in the world. At the road, we will have a lunch and visit to the Burana Tower (an ancient minaret 11 century) and "Cemetery of Balbans" - museum of stone warriors. In a Hotel on the northern beach of the lake you will have wonderful rest before you will be invited for a dinner served at 7 p.m.
Day 2: Issyk-Kul Lake - Karakol
Before we start transfer to Karakol (200 km) you will have time to lay down on the warm sand on the beach enjoying crystal pure water. Afterwards we will departure the hotel and visit stone depictions (dating back to 800 B.C.) not far from Cholpon Ata. At around 1 o'clock you will have another stop during the journey to have lunch, and then we will have a one hour cruise on a steam boat. Traditional dinner will be in a restaurant in Karakol at 8 p.m. and for additional price you can have a national folklore show there. Night is in a Guesthouse.
Day 3: Karakol - Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley
In the morning before we leave Karakol we will have City Tour. After breakfast you visit very picturesque Dungan mosque built from wood without nails and old wooden Orthodox Church. We also will go to museum of M.V. Prejvalsky that stays at the high shore of Issyk Kul Lake and dedicated to a famous Russian explorer. After traditional lunch we leave Karakol and start transfer to Chong Kyzyl Suu Valley (70 km). There is horseback riding along the diversely formed red mountains of Terskey range to the mineral sources at Jeli Suu (Dungan Village). And there is horseback riding to the old geophysics station of Chong Kyzyl Suu. Dinner and overnight stay will be in yurts. Yurta - is Kyrgyz traditional dwelling, made of wooden frame that covered by thick layer of felt. White yurt is symbol of home and family, peaceful life.
Day 4: Chong Kyzyl Suu - Ashu Tor - Chong Kyzyl Suu (6h)
After a strengthening breakfast at 9 am, we will start the rising to the Ashu Tor pass (2800m). There you will have lunch before start hike on horses to a glittering alpine lake. The altitude allows seeing mountain goats there. After exploring of the mountain lake we will come back to the station. Dinner is served at 8 p.m. This night you will spend in yurts again.
Day 5: Chong Kyzyl Suu - Kishi Kyzyl Suu
After a breakfast that served early in the morning we start fascinating riding to the valley of Kishi Kyzyl Suu (6h). Lunch will be organized on the way along a gorgeous canyon which beauty will surely touch your heart and soul. We will arrive to the Kishi Kyzyl village at 7 p.m. there we will have dinner and night in tents.
Day 6: Kishi Kyzyl Suu village - Jumakuchak
After breakfast we start moving toward Jumakuchak. There is a ride across Jumalai pass and along the astonishing landscapes. We will have a picnic there on the pass with an amazing view of the flaring surface of Issyk-Kul Lake. Overnight is in Jumakuchak in tents between nomadic yurts of Kyrgyz a person. Traditional dinner is served at 7 p.m.
Day 7: Jumakuchak - Kok Terek village
This day starts with a breakfast at 8 am, and after that we will ride toward Kok Terek Village (6h). The trail goes through the unique cave in red rocks called "500 rams". We will stop for the halt at the sparkling mountain waterfall and there also you can visit hot springs (40 degrees Celsius). Afterwards, we move down to Kok Terek village. Our dinner and overnight are waiting for us in a home stay.
Day 8: Kok Terek - Bishkek
After nice long sleep you pack your backpacks and belongings and we departure in the direction of Bishkek city (380 km, 6h drive). Lunch will be organized on the way. You will arrive to Bishkek and before you will have a farewell dinner in a restaurant you will be accommodated in a Hotel ****.
Day 9: Bishkek - Europe
In the morning you will have breakfast and Bishkek City Tour, including lunch. In the program Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), the History Museum, National philharmonic, Oriental Bazaar, Art Gallery and others places of interest. Afterwards you will have lunch and on time arranged according to your flight details you will be attended to Manas International Airport.
